Station 8: Buddyburg's Bravest!
In 1911 the Buddyburg Volunteer Fire Company was established, and they were stationed in an old warehouse at 7 Crestview Avenue just opposite the town square.
From day 1 there was a bond between BBVFC and the then Studdsville Volunteer Fire Department.
The Buddyburg station held 2 Engines, a Ladder and from 1982 a Rescue.
In 2005 Buddyburg merged with the City of Studdsville but it was not untill 2010 that the BBVFC was disbanded and absorbed into SVFD creating the 3rd Battalion.
Currently it houses Battalion 3, Task Force 31, Tanker 31 and Rescue 6.

he new rigs are refurbished former US Army 2006 Oshkosh/Pierce M1142 Tactical Fire Fighting Trucks or TFFT's bought at a govenment auction.Studdsville Fire Department needed multi task heavy duty engines, and was looking into ex ARFF rigs, and the SSV Tiger II, but the rigs were either too limited or too big for regular Engine duties.
Then during a meeting with the crews about the options, some firefighters that have served in the armed forces proposed the US Army TFFT.
The TFFT's are 8x8 all terrain vehicles, that the US Army uses for firefighting in combat zones and on Army bases.
Both of SVFD's TFFT's would be refurbished and technically identical, with a upgraded 2000 GPM pump with foam injection, pump and roll, one 1000 gallon water tank, two 250 gallon foam tanks and a 200 pound purple K storage.
The pumphouse and rear body were rebuilt, so the TFFT has 2 crosslays instead of the preconnects in the rear, multiple discharges some of them triple agent capable, and extra storage space, underbody nozzles for road cleanup and self protection in fire conditions.
The pump panel is hinged, so the pump can be operated from the rear cab, from the opened hatch in the crew cab, also when its closed in smokey conditions.
The 2 turrets were also upgraded to triple agent capable 500 gpm nozzle on the nose and a 1000 gpm one on the roof, giving the TFFT's a bigger punch. Both nozzles can be controlled from the cab and the pump panel.
The TFFT's also got 2 spotlights on the roof, and 2 amber beacons for airport operations, the storage behind the drivers door holds the SCBA and PPE for the driver.
Equipment wise the TFFT's will be equipped the same as SVFD's Rescue Engines, even with a full Holmatro extrication and stabilisation kit in the rear cabinet, plus some USAR equipment, wildland gear and 2 Task Force Tips Transformer Plus Piercing Nozzle Systems each, for penetrating deep seated fires like in haybales, walls or roofing.
The rigs will respond to fires, extrications, rescues and HAZMAT calls, just like the regular SVFD Engines.
But they will also respond to wildland fire and rescues, USAR, ARFF and Industrial fires.
