Hazardous Materials
With a growing number of hazardous materials being transported by road, rail, boat and airplane to many destinations in and around the city, the risk of a accident rises.
To counter this, Studdsville Fire Department has 2 Hazardous Incident Teams in service.
These HIT teams are specially trained firefighters who deal with spills, leaks, contaminations and fires where hazardous materials are involved.

Airport Rescue and FireFighting
With Studdsville International Airport growing, also does the need for a on airport fire service.
Currently SVX is a catergory 8 airport, which means planes with a max. 550 passengers can take off and land.
Plus have infrastuctures that are common for a airport like the control tower, radar installation, terminals, facilities for the passengers, aircraft maintenance and fuelling, local business offices and cargo transport facilities.
Studdsville Fire Department and the airport board of directors have an agreement that the Department provides manpower and training, while the airport it self provides the gear, equipment and trucks so ARFF coverage is secured 24/7 and 365 days a year.

Water Rescue and SCUBA diving.
With the harbor and massive bodies of water that surrounds Mercury County and the City of Studdsville, the Fire Department has 2 Water Rescue units and a fire boat which specialise in Surface Water Rescue, Ice Rescue and SCUBA rescue and recovery.
Also mainly in the summer months, the beaches and harbor draw in thousands of people that recreate by, in or on the water, so for our city it is of great importance to keep these people safe also.

Urban Search And Rescue
When a disaster happens, a special team is called into action to rescue the victims that are trapped under collapsed structures, natural objects er from hard to reach places.
They are specialised in High and Low angle rescue, collapse rescue, and pre hospital intensive care.

EMS/Rescue Medic
With the number of people in and around the city, illness and accidents happen, thats why Studdsville Fire Department has its own EMS division.
We provide Emergency Medical Services to anyone who needs it, our members are certified EMT's, Paramedics and Rescue Medics.
The Rescue Medics have recieved special training to handle in extreme situations.
