Station 5: "The wild side of Town"
On the south side of the city, at 110 South Way, SVFD Station 5 is located.
It is built in 2015 and houses the Wildland Commander, Task Force 16, Wildland 16 and Brush 16.

The Wildland Commander is activated when there is a 1st alarm brush or wildland fire alarm given, and assists the Battalion Chief with several tasks in the field.
The rig is a 2006 Dodge RAM 2500 4x4, former vehicle of Battalion 3.
It carries maps with surface water sources, a laptopt with StuddComm5 link, PPE and dual radio's to monitor multiple channels if needed.

Engine Company 16 is established in 2002 and is the first out Engine for Station 5 and is part of Task Force 16 and the Wildland Task Force, but the unit can operate solo on minor, medical or on demand.
They currently operate a 2015 Seagrave Attacker HD 4x4 Rescue Pumper.
The rig has a 2000 gallon per minute pump with a Compressed Air Foam System, a 500 gallon water tank, and 2 125 gallon foam cells.
The rig furthermore has a buper nozzle, dual hosereels,covered hosebed, under bumper and body nozzles, a hosemule, a standard assortment of 1.5', 2', 3' and 5' hose, all sorts of tools, a Holmatro hydraulic rescue equipment set, jacks, nozzles, connectors and internal ground ladders, suction hoses on board.

Just as Tanker 14, this rig was built in the Netherlands, then brought to Belgium for the body by Fire Technics in Ostend, then the rig was shipped to the US where at SSV the last modifications were made.
Also this rig is a twin to Baybrick County Fire & Rescue's Engine 6.

In 1975, a Unimog 416.114 or U1100 was loaned from a local farmer for light brush duties and off road help.
In 1982, the farmer notified the department, that he had sold the little truck to a collector.
For many years this little truck went off the radar.
But in late 2015, a off duty firefighter found the little truck sitting in a shed, it was missing its bed, but was in running condition and had not driven many more miles since its retirement from SVFD.
The SVFD retired firefighters club contacted the owner, and purchased the rig.
The rig was driven to the SVFD shops, where the rig was overhauled, the mechanics and retired firefighters tuned the engine bringing up the HP from 125 to 150, added soundproof mats and carpenting.
The PTO was overhauled, and a new bed was fitted, a 400 gallon watertank, equipment lockers, plumbing, a hose reel and a 350gpm PTO driven pump were installed to the bed, in the cab radio's and controls for the pump and lights were added.
Some old Federal Signal 176 beacons that were gathering dust in the shops were overhauled, the lenzes replaced with LED ones, and reinstalled, to give the Unimog the vintage look.
Also 2 amber LED warning lights and a roof mounted spotlight were added for safety.

A 2000 gallon drop tank is mounted on the officers side of the tank body and several tools are stored on top of the tank.
The cabinets on the body will hold basic tools, some hoses and wildland equipment.
