The new Hazardous Incidents Team truck has been delivered to us by Seagrave and Studdsville Specialty Vehicles.
The 2016 Seagrave Attacker HD has a 6 man cab, and has a custom body with a mobile labratory to identify unknown hazardous samples.
For this use the rig has a extendable space behind the cab, the lab has a airtight fumebox where the samples can be tested, monitoring equipment, 2 computer terminals with a catalog of all hazardous materials and how to handle them.
For monitoring and measurement the rig has a roof mounted FLIR and weather station.
Furthermore the rig has equipment to measure air quality, vapors and gasses, seal off leaks, dam in spills, a large load of absorbent pellets and mats, HAZMAT suits, boots and gloves, decontamination equipment, quick deploy tents and much more.
HIT 2 will be stationed at the airport and will team up with Rescue 8 if a HAZMAT Alarm is given.
But also can team up with HIT 1 on a larger HAZMAT incident.
